Randolf Rodenstock

Randolf Alexander Rodenstock (born March 31, 1948 in Munich ) is a German entrepreneur and economic functionary . Until 2003 he headed the family business Rodenstock .

Life

After graduating from high school in Munich and doing an internship in South America, Rodenstock did military service (1968–1969). This was followed by a degree in electrical engineering and physics at the Technical University of Munich . After graduating in physics, Rodenstock joined the Optical Works G. Rodenstock (OWGR) in 1976. He stopped working there to complete an MBA at the Institut européen d'administration des affaires (INSEAD) in Fontainebleau , which he completed in 1978.

In 1983 Randolf Rodenstock joined the group of shareholders of Optische Werke G. Rodenstock as a personally liable partner ( general partner ) and managed the company together with his father Rolf Rodenstock . From 1990 he assumed overall responsibility for the Rodenstock group of companies as chairman of the group management. At the end of 2003 he switched to the Supervisory Board - first as Chairman and since 2007 as a member. Rodenstock has gradually separated from his family business. After 130 years of family ownership, the remaining 10% of the company's shares were sold to the financial investor Bridgepoint in January 2007. In April 2012 the company moved from its headquarters on Auenstrasse to the west of Munich.

His marriage to Uschi Rodenstock resulted in a son and a daughter.
