Rannja Sorja ( Ukrainian Рання Зоря ; Russian Ранняя Зоря Rannjaja Sorja ) is a village in Luhansk Oblast in the far east of Ukraine on the border with Russian Rostov Oblast .
The village is located in Milowe Rajon , about 18 kilometers southeast of the Rajon capital Milowe . It is enclosed in the northeast and east by the Voronezh - Rostov railway line of the Russian Railways , which is also the border with Russia. The place represents the easternmost inhabited point of Ukraine. From here to the westernmost municipality Solomonowo it is about 1500 km.
Rannja Zorya was founded in Soviet times in 1920 as Berezovo-Jarsk ( Березово-Ярськ ) and in 1928 was given the name Tscherwona Sirka (Ukrainian Червона Зірка , translated “ Red Star ”; Russian Червоная Зиркaja Sirkа / Tscherwonaja Sirkа ). As part of the decommunization in Ukraine , the village was renamed Rannja Zorya (meaning “ morning star ”) by resolution of the Verkhovna Rada on March 17, 2016 .
Together with the five villages Velykozk , Schurawske ( Журавське ), Krynytschne ( Криничне ), Jarske ( Ярське ) and Jasnoprominske ( Яснопромінське ) the village forms the district municipality of Velykozk.
