Raphaël Marie Ze

Raphaël Marie Ze (born November 4, 1932 in Alangana , † September 6, 2011 in Yaoundé ) was a Cameroonian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Sangmélima .

Life

Raphaël Marie Ze was ordained a priest on April 29, 1962 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him bishop of the Sangmélima diocese on January 23, 1992 . The Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Cameroon , Gabon and Equatorial Guinea , Santos Abril y Castelló , consecrated him on April 25 of the same year as bishop; Co- consecrators were Ildefonso Obama Obono , Archbishop of Malabo , and Jean-Baptiste Ama , Bishop of Ebolowa-Kribi .

In 2006, Raphaël Marie Ze became known in Germany when, as head of the diocese of Sangmélima, in conflict with the German government , he demanded the release of 10 284 gold bonds from the Weimar Republic .

On December 4, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
