Rauhia multiflora is a plant of the genus rauhia in the family of Amaryllidaceae family (Amaryllidaceae). The specific epithet multiflora is derived from the Latin words multi for 'much' and florus for '-blütig'.
description
Rauhia multiflora grows with egg-shaped bulbs that are about 10 to 15 centimeters in diameter. Their brown, fleshy onion scales dry up like paper. The two to four spreading leaves are 20 to 30 centimeters long, 9 to 15 centimeters wide and very fleshy.
The inflorescence bears eight to 25 flowers . The flower stem is up to 50 to 120 centimeters long. The two, occasionally three, broadly egg-shaped bracts are not fused to one another up to their base and have a length of about 3 centimeters. The flower stalk is 3 to 9 centimeters and the perigone tube about 2.2 centimeters long. The greenish-whitish tepals are 4 to 5 centimeters long. Shorter stamens are about 3.1 centimeters long, longer ones are about 3.6 centimeters long. The ovary is 0.5 to 1.2 inches long and 0.5 inches wide. The kinked stylus is as long as the stamens or longer. The scar is heady.
