Rauhia is a genus of plants from the subfamily of the Amaryllis family (Amaryllidaceae). The botanical name of the genus honors the German botanist Werner Rauh .

description

The species of the genus Rauhia are perennial onion plants that grow with individual, underground onions. The ascending, two-line leaves appear in front of the flowers. They are oval to elongated, glaucous and fleshy and have a false petiole .

The inflorescence is umbellate and appears laterally. The upright flower stem is massive. The almost upright bracts are lanceolate. The bent or horizontal flowers are greenish white. Your flower tube is funnel-shaped. The obverse lanceolate tepals are spread out. The stamens are attached to the mouth of the perigone tube. They do not form staminal cups. The anthers are dorsifix. In each compartment of the ovary are numerous ovules . The stylus is slightly bent to the side and the scar is heady.
