Ravi Patel

Ravi Vasant Patel (born December 18, 1978 in Freeport , Illinois ) is an American actor .

life and career

Ravi Patel was born into the second generation of Indian-American Americans to a financial advisor and real estate agent in the US state of Illinois. He grew up in Charlotte , North Carolina . After leaving school, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill , which he left with two master's degrees in economics and international relations in 2001. His sister, who is three years older, works as a writer and director. Upon graduation, Patel initially worked as an investment banker and was a co-founder of All In Magazine after moving to Los Angeles .

Patel first appeared on camera in 2006 after taking on a small role in The Boys & Girls Guide to Getting Down . He then appeared in the series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Scrubs in guest roles. Small supporting roles in the films Transformers , Hotel California and Powder Blue followed. In 2010 he took on one of the leading roles in the crime series Past Life . From 2012 he appeared in guest roles in the series Bones , Perception , The New Normal , The Michael J. Fox Show , Hawaii Five-0 , The Comedians , Grey's Anatomy , Master of None , Santa Clarita Diet .

In 2016, Patel and his sister published the autobiographical documentary Meet the Patels . Between 2015 and 2016 he could be seen as Ravi in the series Grandfathered . In 2019 he took on a supporting role as Tom in the film Long Shot - Unlikely, but not impossible .

Patel has been with actress Mahaley Patel , b. Hessam, married. Together they are parents of one daughter.
