Raymond Jordan
Raymond Jordan (born May 24, 1986 in Newark , NJ) is an American wrestler . He became the 2012 Pan American Middleweight Free Style Champion .
Career
Raymond Jordan grew up in New Benn, North Carolina and began wrestling at one of the local high schools. His first trainer was Tom Marsh. Between 2002 and 2004, he won the North Carolina high school championships three times. He then attended the University of Missouri and wrestled in the local wrestling club. He was trained by Shawn Charles. During these years he took part in the NCAA Championships (US American Student Championship) four times. The best place he achieved was a 3rd place in the weight class up to 78 kg, which is only available in American student wrestling, in 2009. In the same year, Raymond Jordan completed a degree in finance. He also worked at the University of Missouri and Arizona State University as an assistant trainer.
Only after completing his studies did he devote himself more to wrestling. He also became a member of the Sunkist Kids WC in Phoenix (Arizona) . Since the end of 2011 he has been training at Nebraska State University in Lincoln (Nebraska) with the 2011 welterweight champion , Jordan Burroughs . Mark Manning is the coach there. His goal is to qualify for the US Olympic team for the London 2012 Olympics.
In February 2012, he celebrated the greatest success in his wrestling career in Colorado Springs when he was the Pan-American middleweight champion in front of the Cuban Luis Mario Miranda.
