Raymond "Ray" Macias (born September 18, 1986 in Long Beach , California ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Braehead Clan in the Elite Ice Hockey League since 2013 .

Career

Ray Macias began his career as a hockey player with the Kamloops Blazers , for which he was active from 2002 to 2007 in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League . In 2004 he was elected to the all-rookie team of the Canadian Hockey League , the umbrella organization for the Canadian junior leagues. He was also selected in the 2006/07 season in the first All-Star Team of the Western Conference of the Western Hockey League. During his junior years, the defender was selected in the fourth round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft as the 124th player of the Colorado Avalanche . From the 2007/08 season he played regularly for their farm team Lake Erie Monsters in the American Hockey League .

In his first two seasons in the Avalanche franchise , he also came to a total of 19 missions for the Johnstown Chiefs in the ECHL . In the 2008/09 season , the American made his debut for the Colorado Avalanche in the National Hockey League , where he was an assist in six games. In the 2010/11 season he played two more NHL games for the Avalanche.

In June 2012, the American was signed by the SERC Wild Wings from the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga .
