Rebecca Sinclair (born September 11, 1991 in Takapuna ) is a New Zealand snowboarder . She starts in the freestyle disciplines.

Career

Sinclair has been participating in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions since 2006 . She took her first victory in slopestyle in August 2006 at the Billabong Pro Junior in the Snow Park . She drove her first FIS World Cup race in September 2008 in Cardrona , which she finished in 17th place on the halfpipe. In January 2009 she finished third on the Revolution Tour at Copper Mountain . At the Snowboard World Championships 2009 she finished 28th on the halfpipe. At her first Olympic participation in Vancouver in 2010 , she came 21st on the halfpipe. In August 2010 she won the silver medal on the halfpipe at the 2010 Snowboard Junior World Championships in Cardrona . At the Snowboard World Championships 2011 in La Molina , she finished 22nd in slopestyle and fourth on the halfpipe. The following year, she barely missed a medal at the 2012 Snowboard World Championships in Oslo with fourth place on the halfpipe. At the FIS World Cup race in Ruka in December 2013, she achieved her first podium finish in the World Cup with third place on the halfpipe. This was followed by fourth place at the Snowboard Jamboree and FIS World Cup races in Stoneham that season . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she came 21st on the halfpipe. She finished the season in fourth place in the FIS Freestyle World Cup and in second place in the FIS halfpipe evaluation.
