Rebekka Borsch (born November 11, 1976 in Olpe ) is a German - Norwegian journalist , author and politician .

Life

She studied journalism and political science at the Free University of Berlin . Living in her hometown of Olpe , she then worked as an editor for the Westfalenpost before she emigrated to Norway in 2003. She now lives in Røyken . In February 2011, she received Norwegian citizenship.

Borsch is an advisor to the Umweltdirektoratet (de .: Umweltamt), which reports to the Climate Ministry and coordinates, among other things, cooperation with the European Environment Agency . In addition, she is a selected member of the German Norwegian Network . This organization builds a network of contacts between young executives from politics, the diplomatic service, business and trade as well as non-governmental organizations. From 2005 to 2010 she was also the information director of the European movement Norway , which advocates the country 's accession to the EU .

Political work

Borsch joined the social liberal party Venstre in 2007 . Since 2008 she has been a member of their state board in Buskerud . In 2010, the MPs at the annual meeting named her party leader of Buskerud Province . In addition, she is a member of the national party executive committee and head of the International Committee (IU) of Venstre. In the journalistic focus as well as in the political discourse, her main focus is on environmental protection , renewable energies , local grassroots democracy , public transport and immigration issues .

For the parliamentary elections in Norway in 2013 she was in the Fylke Buskerud Venstre top candidate, but missed the move into the Storting .

In January 2018 she was appointed State Secretary in the Norwegian Ministry of Education.
