Rebellen des Grauens (Original The Supernaturals ; German alternative title: Rebellion der Zombies , Bataillon der Zombies or Brigade der Zombies ) is an American horror film by the director Armand Mastroianni from 1986.

action

April 12, 1865 in Blakeley, Alabama , during the American Civil War . The victorious 44th Northern unit drives defeated prisoners of war through a mined forest area in front of innocent civilians . The only survivor of the massacre of the Confederate soldiers is a young, uniformed boy named Jeremy. This boy has magical powers with the help of which he brings Melanie, his late mother, as well as his fallen comrades back to life.

Platoon leader Sgt. Leona Hawkins is currently said to be holding an exercise with eight inexperienced US Army recruits from the 44th Training Regiment on a training ground. They set up their tents in a forest clearing without knowing that the minefield in question was once there. First they meet the undead Melanie, whom Private Ray Ellis has a strange fascination for. The petite stranger mistakenly thinks Ellis is her late husband, Evan. During the first night, a soldier is murdered whose body shows a strange, progressing decay. Sgt. Hawkins tries in vain to stop the exercise and contact help. On the second night, mummified Civil War soldiers overrun the platoon to seek revenge for the atrocities committed against them. Despite considerable resistance from the soldiers, only the recruits Lejune and Leona Hawkins survived the attack. Meanwhile, Private Ellis was able to flee to a forest hut, where he met the now graying Jeremy. Ellis can persuade the survivor of yore to help him destroy the undead. In the following fight, however, Jeremy has to lose his life. Private Ellis, Lejune and Sgt. Hawkings remain victorious in the end and move away from the scene together.
