Robert O. Ragland

Robert Oliver Ragland (born July 3, 1931 in Chicago , Illinois , † April 18, 2012 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American film composer .

Life

After studying music at Northwestern University and in Vienna and taking master classes with Igor Stravinsky and Nadia Boulanger , Ragland began his musical career as an arranger for the Dorsey Brothers Orchestra, among others. In 1968 he started working as a film composer. He has set over 100 feature films to music, including several film scores for productions with Charles Bronson . Ragland has also created compositions for the award ceremonies of the Academy Awards and Emmys.
