Recep İvedik 2 is a Turkish film that was produced in 2009. The film is the sequel to Recep İvedik , which appeared in 2008.

Recep visits his grandmother, who is just as hairy as he is, and she also likes to play Pro Evolution Soccer on her Playstation . After Recep brings her flowers and a game, his grandma orders him to do 3 things: first he should find a job, then look for a wife and start a family and finally earn respect. Only then will his grandmother give him the only heirloom, a mysterious box.
Recep then tried a few jobs, including working as a cashier in a supermarket and as a pizza delivery boy . After he realizes that the aviation industry and the job as a pharmacist is not the right one for him either, his grandmother sends him to his cousin Hakan, because the grandfather of the two had founded a company and Recep is part of the company. After Recep persuades Hakan, he gets a job there.
There he meets Ali Kerem, an employee. He asks him to create an internet profile for him because he wants to fulfill his grandmother's second request. Afterwards he also meets twice with women, but one sprays pepper spray in his face and the other he throws up because he gets sick from a meal. He then goes to a celebration organized by Hakan for Japanese businessmen with whom he wants to sign a contract. The next day they refuse until Recep comes in and yells at them. For this, Hakan receives an award as the best entrepreneur , which he passes on to Recep, because he helped him with the deal with the Japanese. Because of this help, he has now also become friendlier.
When a worker from the company later throws a costume party, Recep sneaks up on her in the hope of finding a woman. When his grandmother calls him during the party and says she is feeling bad, he disguises his friend Ali Kerem as a girl to make grandma believe he has a girlfriend too. As the last sentence of her life, grandma says that Recep could shove the box up her butt and die.
When Recep arrives at home, he opens the box. In it he finds a picture of the grandma, on which she sticks her thumb between the middle finger and forefinger (this is considered an insult in Turkey). Recep can only laugh heartily at his grandma.

Like its predecessor Recep İvedik , the film was a huge success and broke several records in Turkey. B. In the first three days (February 12-15) it was seen by a total of 1.2 million people, the highest number that a Turkish film has ever seen. It was also the most successful Turkish film in Germany. The previous record was held by Valley of the Wolves - Iraq with 410,237 visitors. Recep İvedik 2 surpassed this record after the first two weeks.
