Grancrest Senki ( Japanese グ ラ ン ク レ ス ト 戦 記 Gurankuresuto Senki , German 'Grancrest War History' ), also Record of Grancrest War , is a light novel series and pen & paper role-playing game by Ryō Mizuno , which was also adapted as a manga and An anime television series will be released from January 2018 , which will also be streamed with German subtitles on Wakanim .

The title is based on Mizuno's earlier role-playing game and novel series Lodoss-tō Senki ( Record of Lodoss War ).

action

The continent of Atlantan was once ravaged by chaos, which disrupted the laws of nature and led to natural disasters and the invasion of demons. A hero posed with his crest (聖 印ク レ ス ト Kuresuto , German for 'holy seal' ), which gave him supernatural abilities, largely restoring order. Since only carriers of a crest can oppose chaos and this ability is hereditary, these form the nobility and are called lords. With the suppression of chaos, the Lords began to fight each other to expand their respective spheres of power.

The two largest countries are the Factory Alliance (大 工房 同盟フ ァ ク ト リ ー ・ ア ラ イ ア ン ス Fakutorī Araiansu ) and the Fantasia Union (幻想 詩 連 合フ ァ ン タ ジ ア ・ ユ ニ オ ン Fantajia Yunion ). The unification of the continent is now imminent through an upcoming political marriage between the two nations, with their united bloodline producing the Grancrest that could finally eradicate the chaos. The marriage is suddenly disrupted by the appearance of an arch demon, in the course of which the heads of the two houses die.

One of the witnesses to this incident was the young magician Siluca Meletes, who should actually enter into a contract with a lord after completing her magic studies. Instead of supporting them in the newly erupted battles between the Lords for supremacy, however, she wants to act against the chaos. She meets the idealistic Theo Cornello, who for unknown reasons also owns a Crest, and now wants to make him an influential lord in order to realize her dream.
