Redding is a city in Fairfield County in the US -amerikanischen State Connecticut with 9,158 inhabitants (2010). The geographical coordinates are: 41.18 ° North, 73.23 ° West. The urban area has a size of 83.1 km² .

Redding is made up of four major boroughs: Redding Center, Redding Ridge, West Redding (including Lonetown, Sanfordtown, and Topstone), and Georgetown.
The city is traversed by four rivers that flow into Long Island Sound : the Aspetuck River, the Little River, the Norwalk River, and the Saugatuck River. The Saugatuck River flows through the Saugatuck Reservoir.

- Collis P. Huntington State Park : A nature reserve with opportunities for hiking, biking and horse riding.
- Mark Twain Library : Library dedicated to Redding's most famous citizen, Mark Twain , who lived there between 1908 and 1910.
- Devil's Den Preserve : Nature reserve with hiking trails and a view of the Saugatuck reservoir.
- Highstead , an arboretum that shows plants in their natural environment.
- Lonetown Farm Museum : Seat of the Redding Historical Society.
- Putnam Memorial State Park : Former winter camp for the troops of Israel Putnam General in the American War of Independence .
