Regina Safarowna Rachimowa ( Russian Регина Зафаровна Рахимова , English Regina Rakhimova ; born  September 22, 1989 in Tschussowoi , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian freestyle skier . It starts in the moguls disciplines, contained moguls and dual moguls .

Career

Rachimowa took part from 2006 to 2009 mainly in the European Cup. She got her only podium finish in February 2007 in Krasnoe Ozero with third place in the dual moguls. She made her debut in the World Cup on January 24th, 2009 in Mont Gabriel and took 23rd place in the Moguls competition. Five days later she came in the Deer Valley with the tenth place in the Moguls for the first time in the top ten. At the 2009 World Championships in Inawashiro , she achieved 20th place in the dual moguls and tenth place in the moguls. The following year, she was ninth in the Moguls competition in her first Olympic participation in Vancouver .

In the 2010/11 season Rachimowa came in nine World Cup appearances six times in the top ten. Fourth place in the Dual Moguls in Åre was her best result. At the season highlight, the 2011 World Championships in Deer Valley, she finished tenth in the dual moguls and seventh in the moguls. She finished the season in 11th place in the Mughal discipline ranking. In the following World Cup season 2011/12 she came five times under the top ten and reached 12th place in the Moguls discipline. In the 2012/13 season , seventh place in Calgary was her best World Cup placement. At the 2013 World Championships in Voss , she took 19th place in the Moguls and tenth place in the Dual-Moguls.

Rachimowa achieved three top ten results in the 2013/14 World Cup season . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she was eighth in the Mughal competition. After four placements outside the top ten at the beginning of the 2014/15 season , she achieved seventh place in the Dual Moguls and sixth place in the Moguls competition at the 2015 World Championships on Kreischberg . Her best result of the season in the World Cup was two ninth places. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season , she achieved her first World Cup podium finish in Ruka with second place in the Dual Moguls. In the further course of the season she came under the top ten three times in the World Cup and finished tenth in the Moguls World Cup at the end of the season.

In the following season 2016/17 Rachimowa came in ten World Cup starts five times in the top ten and reached tenth place in the Moguls World Cup at the end of the season. At the 2017 World Championships in the Sierra Nevada , she finished 15th in the Dual Moguls and sixth in the Moguls competition.

Rachimowa has so far participated in 80 World Cup races and was among the top ten 30 times. She became Russian champion in the dual moguls (2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015) and in the moguls (2011, 2015, 2017) (as of the end of the 2016/17 season).
