Rheinhessen-Nahe region

The Rheinhessen-Nahe region is one of the five planning regions in Rhineland-Palatinate , which includes the (historical) regions of Rheinhessen and Naheland . It includes the districts of Alzey-Worms , Bad Kreuznach , Birkenfeld and Mainz-Bingen , as well as the independent cities of Mainz and Worms . Worms is also part of the Rheinpfalz region , from which the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region emerged on January 1, 2006 . The administrative headquarters are located at the Structure and Approval Directorate South in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse , the office is in the responsible regional center in Mainz. The region is looked after by a planning community whose task is to draw up regional plans and regional structural policy .
