The regional bus Leipzig GmbH operates bus and coach transport and has its headquarters in Deuben . In addition to regular services, it also offers bus rentals.
history
A broken-down army vehicle was converted by Kraftverkehr Grimma into the first omnibus in this company. The specialty of the converted vehicle was that it was a right-hand drive. The omnibus was only briefly included in the vehicle fleet and replaced by another vehicle. The S-551 was one of the first lines in this company that ran from Wurzen via Trebsen to Grimma. An H6B with a trailer was used on this line . An Ikarus 55 Lux with travel chairs, tables and reading lamp belonged to the inventory in Kraftverkehr Grimma. After the turnaround, the Muldental passenger transport company was founded in 1993.
In August 2004 it joined the Central German Transport Association . On January 1, 2014, the Personenverkehrsgesellschaft Muldental mbH took over the line concessions for regional bus transport for the service area Zwenkau (southern Leipzig area) from the Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB), with a few exceptions. With this step, in addition to the Zwenkau depot, 37 buses and around 60 employees were taken over from LeoBus , a subsidiary of LVB. As a result of the takeover, the company concentrates almost all of its regional traffic around Leipzig and in the Muldental. In the course of the associated expansion of the service area, the Muldental passenger transport company was renamed Regionalbus Leipzig on December 12, 2014.

The company owns depots in Colditz, at the headquarters in Deuben and in Grimma and, since 2013, in the course of taking over the Leobus concession, also the ex-Leobus depot in Zwenkau.
