The Rehleitenkopf is a mountain in the Bavarian Inn Valley . He is 1338  m above sea level. NHN high and geographically assigned to the eastern Mangfall Mountains in the Bavarian Prealps .

location

The mountain is located in the easternmost part of the Wendelstein group of the Mangfall Mountains in the area of ​​the municipality of Flintsbach am Inn in the district of Rosenheim . It is the neighboring summit of the only about 700 meters north-northeast, 1337 meters high Great Giant Head , to which it is connected by a pass about 1220 meters high.

To the west, the Rehleitenkopf drops steeply into the valley of the Förchenbach, about 700 meters lower, through which the Tatzelwurmstrasse runs. The steep slope is wooded and is called "Rehleite" (from Leite = slope). To the east the mountain falls much flatter to the mountain farm Hohe Asten, which is about 200 meters below the summit . The eastern slope is only sparsely forested and otherwise overgrown with grass . The summit is a rock protruding from the forest and bearing a wooden summit cross .

Ascent

The shortest ascent leads from a 783 meter high hiking car park on Tatzelwurmstraße directly to the Rehleitenkopf. The upper 200 meters of altitude can be walked as a circular route, but on the way back over the Hohe Asten there is another increase of around 35 meters to the original path at the end.

A longer ascent leads from the 484 meter high hiking car park on the Rachelwand in Flintsbach past the Unter-Falkenstein castle , the Petersberg and the mountain farm "Bauer am Berg" either over the Hohe Asten or over the Großer Riesenkopf to the Rehleitenkopf.
