Surname

In the area through which the Tatzelwurmstrasse leads, there are a few toponyms named after the Tatzelwurm , a mythical alpine creature. These include the Tatzelwurm waterfalls , the Tatzelwurm lake, the Tatzelwurm pass and the Oberaudorf district of Tatzelwurm , a hamlet near the waterfalls. The later built mountain road took its name from these.
