history

The first written mention of a church in Reichersdorf can be found in the 13th century. The Reichersdorf branch came from the Kirchberg parish to the Niederviehbach monastery in 1590 . In the year of conscription in 1752 Reichersdorf formed a chairman in the Adlkofen office of the Vilsbiburg regional court. Three properties were under the Hofmarksherrschaft Niederaichbach the Counts of Königsfeld .

The year of secularization in Bavaria 1803 meant the end of the Niederviehbach monastery. The Augustinian father from Niederviehbach has now become a beneficiary for Reichersdorf. His requests to turn Reichersdorf into an independent parish were initially unsuccessful. It was not until 1876 that Reichersdorf became an independent branch .

In 1891 a Hutzenthaler donated the fortune for the construction of a retirement home in Reichersdorf. Destitute servants should spend their retirement years there. This facility was responsible for the use of its own agriculture, although it only lasted for one generation. In 1920 the Reichersdorf Expositur received the rank of parish . In 1953 the elementary school was relocated to Niederaichbach. Due to the relocation of the parish seat from Reichersdorf to Niederaichbach, the new parish church St. Josef was built there in 1961. The parish church in Reichersdorf became a branch church again.
