The Rein da Curnera , in German Curnerarhein , is a right tributary of the Vorderrhein and one of the main source rivers of the Rhine (see Rhine source ). It rises from a small glacier on the northwest slope of Piz Denter at the southern end of the valley of Val Curnera , which it flows through towards the north. The Rein da Curnera is about eight kilometers long. Approximately in the middle of its range the water for as Curnera Lai for the production of electricity to operate the power plants Vorderrhein dammed. The Rein da Maighels , once a left tributary of the Rein da Curnera , also flows into the lake . The river flows into the Vorderrhein at Tschamut in Tujetsch . Most of the water is directed to the power station in Sedrun via pressure tunnels .
