Reinald Schnell
Reinald Schnell (born October 23, 1935 in Wuppertal - Barmen ) is a German documentary filmmaker , actor and painter .
Life
Reinald Schnell grew up in an environment in which art and culture were an essential part of life. Friends of the family included a. Otto Pankok , Günter Bruno Fuchs and Luise Rinser , who was married to the composer and conductor HG Schnell . The move to Mülheim an der Ruhr encouraged Schnell's interest in documentary and experimental film. Filmmakers as diverse as Werner Nekes , Peter Nestler , Rainer Komers , Christoph Schlingensief and Dore O. worked in Mülheim an der Ruhr ; he has worked with most of them. Schnell has released more than thirty films.
Schnell is socio-politically committed. He is one of the co-founders of DFU and Filmbüro NW and is a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state board of the ver.di trade union in the field of art and media. In addition to his cinematic work, he was also a freelancer for the series Schauplatz at WDR 3 television. Schnell is married and lives in Mülheim an der Ruhr .
He is the son of Robert Wolfgang Schnell .
