Pure Kontressowitz

Reiner Kontressowitz (born June 25, 1942 in Roßlau ) is a German musicologist and poet .

Life

After graduating from the Extended Oberschule (EOS) in Roßlau in 1961, Kontressowitz studied horn, drums, theory and composition at the Halle Conservatory from 1961 to 1963 and from 1963 to 1967 at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig . From 1967 to 1969 he was an orchestra musician in Zeitz and in the Handel Festival Orchestra in Halle . He completed his studies in musicology at the Martin Luther University Halle from 1971 to 1975 with the diploma thesis: Concerts with Tomaso Albinoni .

From 1969 to 1981 he worked as an editor, then responsible lector for contemporary music and head of the concert and stage department of the Edition Peters publishing house in Leipzig and from 1981 to 1991 as a lector for contemporary music at the German publishing house for music Breitkopf & Härtel in Leipzig; There he was responsible for the program design and organization of the publisher's own and third-party events: for example the publishing series of events Studio DVfM, Werkstatt DVfM, Seminar DVfM and the Young Composers Working Group and Publishing Concerts 1982 and 1985 as an encounter in the Gewandhaus (big); 1985 in the Landestheater Halle , 1985 in the chamber music hall of the Cottbus Conservatory; 1987 in the chamber music hall of the Bose House ; 1990 in Alte Börse Leipzig . Kontressowitz was a member of the GDR Composers' Association . In 1990 he co-founded the Forum for Contemporary Music in Leipzig . From 1991 he was lecturer for public relations and from 1999 to 2006 lecturer for practical music (KlA stage works) at Bärenreiter-Verlag Kassel.

He has lived in Leipzig since 1978 .
