Reinhard Clemens

Reinhard Clemens (born July 22, 1960 ) is a German manager .

From December 2007 he was on the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom AG and Chief Executive Officer of T-Systems . On January 1, 2018, he left Deutsche Telekom and T-Systems.

Life

After completing his electrical engineering studies at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen , Reinhard Clemens also began his professional activity in Aachen as a research assistant at the chair for machine tools there. In 1990 he took over the role of managing director of the Gesellschaft für Industrieautomation , four years later he moved to IBM . After having performed various functions there - mainly in sales and service - he finally joined the Management Board of Systematics AG in 2001 for a brief interlude . In the same year he switched to the German branch of EDS , which Systematics AG took over in full on June 30, 2002. Two years later, he was appointed chairman of the management board of EDS Holding GmbH . In this role he was also responsible for sales and the strategy of EDS in Central Europe. At the end of 2007 he finally moved to the Telekom Group , where on December 1 he took over the role of Managing Director (known in the company as Chief Executive Officer, CEO) of T-Systems , which had been vacant since Lothar Pauly left the company. As part of this function, he was also responsible for the business customer division of the Telekom Group on the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom AG. Shortly after taking over his position at T-Systems, Clemens began fundamentally realigning the company. An important element of this strategy was the amalgamation of the previously legally separate sub-companies into a uniform organization, in particular the more IT-oriented T-Systems Enterprise Services and the T-Systems Business Services, which are mainly active in the telecommunications sector .
