Reinhard Leue

Reinhard Leue (born July 4, 1929 in Breslau ; † December 1, 2012 ) was a German Protestant theologian , publicist , author and chronicler . He worked for the Protestant Church for 40 years - as pastor, superintendent and from 1987 as church director of the diaconal institution in Rothenburg / Upper Lusatia . With his retirement , Reinhard Leue became more journalistic and published numerous books and articles.

Life

Reinhard Leue grew up in his native city of Breslau. Due to the war, he came to Leipzig as a refugee in 1945 , where he graduated from high school in 1947. He studied from 1947 to 1952 Protestant theology in Leipzig and Berlin and graduated 1952/1953 the seminary in Lückendorf , followed by the Vicariate in Riesa , where he on November 1, 1953 ordained was.

From January 1, 1954, Leue worked as a pastor: initially for the Trinity Church in Dresden - Johannstadt , from 1964 to 1973 for the Christ Church in Görlitz - Rauschwalde . From 1973 he was superintendent in the Schleusingen church district ( Thuringia ), moved to Rothenburg / Oberlausitz in 1987 and headed what is now Martinshof Rothenburg Diakoniewerk there until his retirement in 1994 . Leue got involved in the action atonement .

Leue wrote mainly about theological and contemporary history in newspapers. According to his own statement from 2010, Reinhard Leue has published around 1,000 articles in daily newspapers, church newspapers, magazines and books as of 1994.

In 2006, at the age of 77, he appeared with his first own book. This and the following books were produced as self-publications by the service provider Engelsdorfer Verlag ; the manuscripts were cared for by Holger Zürch on Leue's behalf .

Leue felt closely connected to his native Silesia throughout his life , and reconciliation between Poland and Germany was a matter close to his heart. Two of his books are published in German and in Polish .

Reinhard Leue had been married to the pediatrician Johanna Leue, nee Schille, since 1958. The couple has three children.

Leue has lived in Rothenburg / Oberlausitz since 1987, which is also where his final resting place is.
