Maria Reinhard Georg Ignaz Graf von Neipperg (born July 30, 1856 in Horin in Bohemia; † January 15, 1919 in Schwaigern ) was a registrar and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Count Reinhard von Neipperg was the son of Erwin von Neipperg and his second wife Maria Rosa von Lobkowitz . He conducted private high school studies and passed the Matura examination at the KuK Schottengymnasium in Vienna . From 1875 to 1876 he was at the University of Bonn and from 1876 to 1879 at the University of Prague , where he passed the three legal state exams.

From 1880 to 1897 Reinhard von Neipperg was his father's representative, after his death from 1897 to 1918, as his successor, member of the First Chamber of Parliament of the Kingdom of Württemberg . As head of the Neipperg family, he managed his agricultural property in Schwaigern and held a number of honorary posts. In 1897 he was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Frederick .

From 1881 to 1890 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Württemberg 16 ( Biberach , Leutkirch , Waldsee , Wangen ) and the German Center Party . In 1902, Count von Neipperg was Vice President of the 49th German Catholic Convention in Mannheim .

Count Reinhard married Gabriela Countess von Waldstein-Wartenberg (1857–1948) in 1880 , with whom he had seven children.

During the First World War he took over the management of a hospital train . Count Reinhard died shortly after the end of the war.

His eldest son Eberhard (1882–1956) renounced the line of succession for health reasons and passed it on to the second son, Anton Ernst von Neipperg . Adalbert von Neipperg , another son, became a Benedictine and abbot of the Neuburg monastery near Heidelberg . Persecuted by the National Socialists, he fled to Yugoslavia and was murdered by the communists in 1948 as a prison chaplain. The daughter Michaela von Neipperg (1885–1957) was also a Benedictine and worked as a superior in Constance .
