history

The oldest documentary evidence of Reith himself is the confirmation of the "Benedictine monastery Thulba with Franchenborne" in the form of a letter of protection issued by Pope Innocent II in 1141 . In the Middle Ages, close parish and economic relationships arose between Frankenbrunn, Reith and Thulba, when, for example, a wisdom was agreed between these places in 1504 . Reith only began to flourish economically in 1960 when industrial companies settled in the village. On May 1, 1978, Reith was incorporated into Oberthulba as part of the municipal reform. In 1699 the place consisted of four newly built houses, which were inhabited by eleven subjects.
