Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. (formerly known as Reliance Energy and prior to that as Bombay Suburban Electric Supply , BSES ) is an Indian power company headquartered in Mumbai . The company is part of Reliance - Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group and is managed by Shri Anil D. Ambani.

history

The company was founded by Sh. Dhirubhai H Ambani. Reliance Energy emerged from the takeover of the energy supplier Bombay Suburban Electric Supply (BSES), which was founded in 1929.

Reliance Energy was the sole provider of electricity to customers in the suburbs of Mumbai and Delhi in 2007. An area of ​​124,300 square kilometers and around 25 million customers were served. 28,000 megawatts of electricity were sold. 941 megawatts of electricity were generated in power plants in Maharashtra , Goa and Andhra Pradesh , Kerala and Karnataka .

Several gas, coal, wind and hydroelectric power plants have been developed in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh , Arunachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal with a total capacity of over 13510 megawatts. The annual turnover in 2013/14 was around 1.4 billion euros. In 2014 the company employed over 8,000 people.
