Renate Holznagel (born December 20, 1949 in Loitz ; maiden name: Renate Sager ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament from 1991 to 2011 .

education and profession

Renate Holznagel attended the Polytechnic High School in Loitz from 1956 to 1966 . She then completed vocational training as a cattle breeder and graduated from high school in 1968 in Jürgenstorf . She then studied at the Humboldt University in Berlin and graduated in 1973 with a degree in veterinary medicine . From 1973 to 1976 she worked as a hygiene doctor in the slaughter and processing plant in Pasewalk . From 1976 to 1985 she worked as a practical veterinarian in the Demmin district . From 1985 she was deputy head of the Demmin veterinary office. She is a senior field veterinarian in the Bundeswehr reserve.

politics

Renate Holznagel has been a member of the Demmin District Council since 1990 . She is a member of the state board of the CDU Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and belonged to the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania from June 4, 1991 (as a replacement for Jürgen Leiblein ) until the end of the 5th legislative period in 2011. From 1994 to 1998 she was deputy chairwoman of the CDU parliamentary group . From October 1998 until she left the state parliament, she was 1st Vice President of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Holznagel was the agricultural policy spokeswoman for the CDU parliamentary group as well as a member of the environmental committee and the agricultural committee of the state parliament. She is also a member of the federal executive committee of the Evangelical Working Group (EAK) of the CDU / CSU.

Renate Holznagel is divorced and has two children (her son Reiner Holznagel is President of the Taxpayers Association ). She is involved in various associations and committees in her country. Among other things, she is chairwoman of the German Baltic Sea Coast Protection Association . V. and active member of the regional synod of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church. She is also a member of the supervisory board of Landbau Demmin AG and of the board of trustees of the social services (Demmin / Weimar).
