Reiner Holznagel (born June 14, 1976 in Pasewalk ) is a German political scientist and has been President of the Taxpayers Association since 2012 .
Life
Reiner Holznagel was born as the son of the veterinarian and later CDU member of the state parliament Renate Holznagel and Karl-Heinz Holznagel. He attended school in Loitz in Western Pomerania , where he graduated from high school in 1995 and then did community service in a children's clinic on the North Frisian island of Amrum . From 1997 to 2001 he studied political science , public law and psychology at the University of Kiel with study visits to Coventry and Brussels and an internship at the Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Schwerin . He finished his studies with a Magister Artium . In his master's thesis he examined the youth potential of right-wing extremist parties in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
He then worked from 2001 to 2003 as a policy and public relations officer at the CDU Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . He then moved to the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Association of the Taxpayers' Association as a managing board member (2003–2005). In 2006 he became vice - president of the general association and managing director with a focus on press and public relations. After Karl Heinz Däke no longer ran for chair due to reasons of age, his foster son Holznagel was elected President of the Taxpayers' Association in 2012. He received only 65 percent of the vote, although there was no opposing candidate.
In 2013, under its President Holznagel, the Association of Taxpayers renamed its research institute from the Karl Bräuer Institute to the “German Taxpayer Institute” and abolished the Karl Bräuer Prize . Previous winners receive a certificate in which Karl Bräuer (co-founder and president of the Taxpayers' Association 1950–1961) no longer appears.
In addition, from 2004 to 2005, Holznagel was a lecturer in the police department at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Güstrow . From 2005 to 2012 he was editor-in-chief of the taxpayer magazine . Through his work he is regularly on the TV show Mario Barth Reveals! to see where, together with comedian Mario Barth, he is preparing a cost plan for tax waste in Germany.
Reiner Holznagel is with the tax advisor Jana Holznagel, geb. Wulff, married. His hobbies are water sports and running .
