Susanne Tiemann

Susanne Tiemann , b. Bamberg, (born April 20, 1947 in Schwandorf ) is a German lawyer , university professor and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Tiemann studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . At the University of Munich , she did her doctorate on the status of federal financial control under state law . In 1975 she got a branch as a lawyer in Munich , from 1980 she had her own law firm in Cologne .

In 1988 Tiemann became a member of the Presidium of the Federal Association of Liberal Professions , from 1994 to 1997 she was Vice-President of the World Union of Liberal Professions and from 1992 to 1994 President of the Association of Taxpayers .

In 1993 Tiemann was awarded the European Women’s Prize in Germany . A year later she received the Voltaire medal from the representative of the French government for her services in the European integration process.

politics

In 1970 Tiemann became a member of the CSU , in 1980 she switched to the CDU. From 1987 to 1994 she was a member of the European Economic and Social Committee , from 1992 to 1994 as its President. From 1994 to 2002 she was a member of the German Bundestag . She was elected both times from the CDU state list in Rhineland-Palatinate .
