action

It's advent time. Pastor Henry Biggs devotes all his energy to the diverse social needs of his black Baptist church in a poverty -stricken neighborhood of New York City . Immersed in his work, he does not notice that he is neglecting his wife Julia and his young son. To make matters worse, there are the machinations of an urban developer who lures the congregation, plagued by financial worries, with a swanky new church in order to secure the church property. The pastor fears the parish will collapse due to the remote location of this new parish center.

In response to a quick prayer, God sends him the angel Dudley to support him. Of course, the pastor doesn't think Dudley is an angel. But Dudley doesn't let himself be shaken off, makes herself useful in the parish office and the pastor's wife also takes a liking to Dudley's attention. When the pastor finally notices this, he decides to devote more time to his family again. After leading the urban developer back on the path of virtue and happily working on other problem areas, the angel erases all memories of him from the memory of the couple and leaves behind a happy family.

criticism

“An imaginatively staged and well-acted romantic comedy that has deliberately committed itself to a naive perspective. Although it loses some of its appeal due to dramaturgical deficiencies and strong emotionality, it still offers very pleasant entertainment overall. "
