Rene Mihelič (born July 5, 1988 in Maribor ) is a Slovenian football player . He played from 2008 to 2010 as an attacking midfielder in the Slovenian Slovenska Nogometna Liga at NK Maribor .

Career

Mihelič started his career in the youth department of NK Maribor and has played for Maribor ever since. In 2005 he made his debut in the Slovenska Nogometna Liga. In his first season he came to 16 games. In 2010 he left the club to join Nacional Funchal in Portugal. There it was only used irregularly. In early 2013 he moved to CSKA Sofia on loan for half a year . He joined NK Zavrč in October 2013 before moving to Debreceni VSC in Hungary in early 2014 . There he won the championship with his team in 2014 . In the summer of 2015, the Israeli first division club Hapoel Ra'anana signed him . He stayed there until the beginning of 2017 when he terminated his contract. A short time later, Riga FC signed him . In the summer of 2017 he went to Chennaiyin FC in India. He won the championship with his team in the 2017/18 season. In the play-offs, however, he was not used. He has been playing for Delhi Dynamos FC since mid-2018 .

National team

Mihelič made his debut for Slovenia on August 22, 2007 against Montenegro when he came on as a substitute in a 1-1 draw for Mitja Mörec in the 83rd minute.
