Renny Ottolina

Reinaldo José Ottolina Pinto (born December 11, 1928 in Valencia - † March 16, 1978 ) was a Venezuelan television entertainer and producer, known as Renny Ottolina , El Numero Uno .

Ottolina began his career in 1945 at Radio Caracas Radio . He later switched to Radio Continente and Radiodifusora Venezuela . He also produced and spoke documentaries for Bolívar Films . In 1954 he went to Televisa , the first commercial television station in Venezuela, and from 1955 he presented a daily program on Radio Caradas Televisión .

In the 1960s he became popular with the El Show de Renny , the last episode of which ran in 1973. Among his guests were Mirla Castellanos , José Luis Rodríguez González ("El Puma"), Luisín Landáez , Raquel Castaño , Cherry Navarro and Alirio Díaz from Venezuela and international stars like Piero de Benedictis , Mina Mazzini , Ray Charles , Tom Jones , Raphael , Sandro , Miriam Makeba , La Lupe , Bruno Filippini , Stevie Wonder , Charles Aznavour , Nat King Cole and Marcel Marceau .

His new show was broadcast under the title Renny presenta… from the mid-1970s . Since the late 1960s, Ottolina has also produced for television, including the program El angelito más pequeño (1967) and the series Conociendo a Venezuela .

In 1978 he founded the Movimiento de Integridad Nacional (MIN) party and ran for the presidency in Venezuela. He was killed in a plane crash while on a campaign trip.
