The Hintere Rettenbach is a right tributary of the Teichl in the Sengsengebirge in Upper Austria .
geography
Rettenbach spring
The Hintere Rettenbach rises from a karst spring , below the Rettenbach cave, the so-called devil's hole . There are three main exit points. When the tide is low, the water comes out of blocky crevices on the left side of the mountain. In hot summers , the upper source stream is completely dry, so that the Hintere Rettenbach arises from constantly active jumps at the fish ponds at the Rettenbach hunting lodge . After heavy rain or snow melts , the water can even from the cavity of the portal devil hole, with a bed of a plurality of cubic meters arrive per second. The Rettenbach spring pours an average of 1100 l / s. The catchment area certainly includes the central part of the Sengsengebirge around the Hohe Nock (1,963 m).
course
Below the source, the Hintere Rettenbach meets the Fischbach and assumes its direction of flow. At Lengau it crosses under the Pyhrn Autobahn and flows into the Teichl .
