Rhodinol is an acyclic monoterpene - alcohol and a component of essential oils . (+) - Rhodinol [Synonym: ( R ) -Rhodinol] is found in geranium oil , (-) - Rhodinol [Synonym: ( S ) -Rhodinol] in Cymbopogon oils. In perfumery, rhodinol is used to compose floral scents. The scent impression is pleasant, expressive, somewhat sweet, reminiscent of rose and geranium, waxy-green.
