Richard Friedrich Lorenz Anton (born March 11, 1887 in Darmstadt ; † September 2, 1977 there ) was Lord Mayor of Castrop-Rauxel and district leader of the NSDAP .

Life

Richard Anton was born the son of the machine manufacturer Georg Anton. After attending the Darmstadt secondary school with a high school diploma in 1906, Anton came to Darmstadt as a one-year volunteer in the Life Guard Infantry Regiment No. 115 . After completing his military service, he studied chemistry, physics, mineralogy and geology in Darmstadt , Munich and Heidelberg from 1907 to 1914 . With the end of his studies, he earned his doctorate in May 1914 in Heidelberg to Dr. Phil. Before Anton was called up for military service at the start of the war , he was employed as an industrial chemist at the Hannibal colliery and the Hannover colliery . His last post as battalion leader was his military service ended on December 19, 1918. He found employment in various companies in the chemical industry, such as the Rütgerswerke . From 1929 active in various committees of the city administration Castrop-Rauxel, he was elected city councilor on March 12, 1933 and its chairman. He was also a candidate for the Prussian state parliament and the Reichstag. First elected Deputy Mayor of Castrop-Rauxel on June 10, 1933, the election as head of administration took place on July 18, 1933. He held this post until shortly before the end of the war, when he was arrested by the American troops on April 9, 1945 and taken to internment camps in Namur and Cherbourg . In the subsequent denazification process , Anton was classified in category III (minor offenders) and, after the appeal process, in category III b III. These findings resulted in the reduction of the pension .

Membership in the party

After joining the NSDAP in April 1929, he became deputy NSDAP local group leader in Castrop-Rauxel in November 1929 , before taking over the leadership of the local group in February 1931. He acted as district or district leader of the NSDAP of the Castrop-Rauxel district and was ultimately district leader for special tasks.

The marriage in 1916 resulted in a daughter and two sons, both of whom lost their lives in the war .
