Davison got his first pony at the age of nine . After school he worked briefly in his father's PR agency before deciding to take up equestrianism. At that time still interested in hunting riding , eventing rider Sandra Pearson-Adams sent him to a dressage course with Barbara Slane-Fleming, where he discovered his enthusiasm for dressage riding . Lady Bamford then bought him the horse Master JCB , with which he won team silver at the European Championships in 1993.
