Richard Max Goschütz (born October 12, 1912 in Königshütte , Upper Silesia, † February 4, 1992 in Berlin-Lichtenberg ) was a German politician ( SED ). From 1955 to 1958 he was Minister for Coal and Energy in the GDR.

Life

Goschütz, the son of a machinist, first attended elementary school and later high school. He completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith and worked in this profession at the Bismarckhütte . He later studied at the technical college in Königshütte and at the state engineering school. In 1938 Goschütz worked as an engineer in Görlitz . He then studied again and worked as an industrial technician from 1941. In 1945 he was drafted into the Volkssturm and taken prisoner by Soviet soldiers. He remained in Soviet captivity in the village of Talitsy until 1948. During this time, Goschütz attended the Antifa School in 2041.

After returning to Germany in 1948, he worked as an engineer at VEB LOWA Görlitz, and from the end of 1949 as technical director of the plant. In 1949 Goschütz joined the SED and the FDGB . From 1950 to 1952 Goschütz worked as Minister for Industry, Labor and Development or for Economy and Labor of the State of Saxony , then from 1952 to 1956 as State Secretary in the Ministry for Heavy Engineering and First Deputy to the Minister for Heavy Engineering. From 1950 to 1954 he was also a member of the People's Chamber . From November 1955 to July 1958 Goschütz acted as Minister for Coal and Energy of the GDR.

1958/1959 he was head of the coal sector in the State Planning Commission , from 1959 to 1962 operations director of VEB Waggonbau Niesky . From 1962 he was a senior employee in the secretariat of the Comecon in Moscow , among other things as head of the group for summarized balance sheets. From 1969 to 1976 he worked as a department head in the information and education center of the GDR and as head of the management department in the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Goschütz was married and had two children, son Johannes (* 1943) and daughter Angelika Ursula (* 1951).
