Richard Shorr

Richard Shorr (born November 24, 1942 in New York City , New York , † August 13, 2001 in Paris , France ) was an American sound engineer .

Life

Shorr began his career in the mid-1970s, making his film debut in the British horror musical Son of Dracula with Harry Nilsson and Ringo Starr in the lead roles. He worked in various professions in the 1970s, including production assistant, director and screenwriter, but remained unsuccessful. In 1983 he worked as a sound engineer on the television film The Day After , for which he was awarded the Primetime Emmy the following year .

He then worked on a number of successful Hollywood productions such as Die Ehre der Prizzis and Predator . For his work on the action film Die Hard , he was in 1989 together with Stephen Hunter Flick for the Oscar in the category Best Sound Editing nomination. In the 1990s he worked on numerous French film productions such as Farinelli and Dobermann . He died in Paris in 2001.
