Richard Sternfeld (historian)

Richard Sternfeld (born October 15, 1858 in Königsberg i. Pr. , † June 21, 1926 in Berlin ) was a German historian, composer and music historian.

Life

Prof. Dr. Richard Sternfeld's French History was published as Volume 85 in the Göschen Collection

Sternfeld studied at the Albertus University in Königsberg and the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin , which made him a Dr. phil. PhD . In the summer semester of 1876 he became a member of the Königsberg fraternity, Gothia , to which he remained lifelong. He completed his habilitation in Berlin in 1888. In 1899 he was appointed associate professor of history .

He dealt with Giovanni Battista Orsini , Pope Nicholas III. , Costanzo Festa , Ludwig van Beethoven , Richard Wagner , Hans von Bülow , Camillo Benso von Cavour , Wilhelm I , the Bayreuth Festival , the Hohenzollern and Siegesallee .

Richard Sternfeld died in Berlin in 1926 at the age of 67. He was buried in the Zehlendorf cemetery . The grave has not been preserved.
