Richard Trampler
Richard Trampler (born December 13, 1845 in Wagstadt , Moravia , † August 16, 1907 in Esternberg ) was an Austrian historian , geographer , educator and karst cave researcher .
Life
After training as a teacher, Trampler started teaching in Brno in 1870 , where he stayed until 1873. From there he made frequent trips to the Moravian Karst and explored the geology of the region. Therefore he was able to give the cave explorer Dr. Heinrich Wankel provide valuable information.
In 1873 he was appointed professor at the Realschule in Vienna and in 1894 was appointed director. There he created a unique geographic collection. In the years 1890–1902 he wrote over thirty articles on the Moravian Karst, but not only dealt with the geological karst phenomena, but also researched the history of Holstein Castle and its owners. Richard Trampler died of heart failure in Esternberg in Upper Austria.
