Christoph Friedrich von Thümen

Christoph Friedrich von Thümen (* 1683 in Stücken ; † January 6, 1744 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general , first chief of the Dragoon Regiment No. 7, then of the Garrison Regiment No. 5 , Commander of Glogau as well as Governor of Köslin and Kasimirsburg .

His parents were the heir to pieces, Löwendorf and Kerzendorf , Melchior Heinrich von Thümen (1663-1742) and Erhardine Dorothea von Beeren adH Genshagen formerly widowed von Ziecker († 1730). The Prussian general August von Thümen was his nephew.

Military career

On January 20, 1709 he became a captain in Cuirassier Regiment No. 4 (Wreech), on May 29, 1714 major and then in 1720 lieutenant colonel and on May 29, 1728 colonel. He fought with the Prussian troops in the Netherlands and Pomerania .

During his time as a colonel , the king gave him the post of governor of Köslin and Kasimirsburg. In 1737 he took over the Dragoon Regiment No. 7 (Prinz Eugen). For this he received on June 5, 1741 the promotion to major general. But in the same year he gave up his regime to Colonel Ernst Ferdinand von Werdeck and in September was given the post of Commandant of Glogau and the associated Garrison Regiment No. 5 . In June 1743 he received the requested farewell .

family

Thümen married Sophie Karoline von Münchhausen (1707–1756) in 1722 .
