Richard VanHuizen (born November 25, 1975 in Toronto ) is a Canadian beach volleyball player .

Career

VanHuizen played his first international tournament with Ahren Cadieux at the 2003 Grand Slam in Los Angeles . In 2004 he started with Conrad Leinemann before temporarily returning to Cadieux. At the 2005 World Cup, VanHuizen / Leinemann lost to the second German duo Dieckmann / Reckermann after a narrow win against Kröger / Rademacher and were eliminated in the fifth losing round against the Swiss Heyer / Laciga . They then finished ninth in the Paris Grand Slam and two open tournaments. After VanHuizen had been unsuccessful with Mark Heese in 2006 , he formed a duo for the third time with Leinemann, who finished seventh in 2007 in Shanghai . In the preliminary round of the World Cup in Gstaad , the Canadians failed to win a set against their competitors from Switzerland and Austria.

In 2008 VanHuizen and Cadieux finished fifth in Manama and Sanya . With his new partner Christian Redmann he won all preliminary round games at the World Cup in Stavanger before he failed in the second round to the Americans Jennings / Fuerbringer . Then the duo finished fifth in the Grand Slam in Moscow . In 2011 he played with Josh Binstock , but could not achieve any top placements.
