Conrad Leinemann (born April 2, 1971 in Kelowna ) is a Canadian former beach volleyball player .
Career
After he had already completed two tournaments before, Leinemann formed a duo with Jody Holden in 1996 , who made it into the top ten at the Grand Slam in Pornichet and came third in 1997 in Rio de Janeiro . At the World Championships in Los Angeles , Leinemann / Holden took 17th place. The same result came two years later in Marseille . Following this, Leinemann / Holden won the gold medal at the Pan American Games in their home town of Winnipeg . At the 2000 Olympic tournament in Sydney they defeated the Americans Heidger / Wong with 17:15 in the first round before they were defeated by the Germans Ahmann / Hager in the round of 16 . As fourth of the Espinho Open, they traveled to the World Championships in Klagenfurt in 2001 . There they came as group winners in the first main round and lost to the US duo Rogers / Holdren . In 2002 they were in the final of the Cadiz Open. The 2003 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro ended for the Canadians again in the first main round against an opponent from the neighboring country; this time there was a 1: 2 against Holdren / Metzger .
The next year, Leinemann started with his new partner Richard van Huizen . He later played a few tournaments with Holden. In Stare Jabłonki he continued his career with van Huizen. At the 2005 World Cup in Berlin they lost to their German compatriots Dieckmann / Jonas Reckermann after a tiebreak victory against Kröger / Rademacher ; then they were eliminated in the fifth losing round against the Swiss Heyer / Laciga . In 2006, Leinemann played with Ahren Cadieux and finished ninth in the Grand Slam in Stavanger . At the Vitória Open he returned to van Huizen. In the preliminary round of the 2007 World Cup , the duo could not win a set against an Austrian and two Swiss duos. After the Moscow Grand Slam in 2008, Leinemann ended his international career.
