The leading light line Voslapp marks a section of the fairway to the Wilhelmshaven ports . It begins at the level of the Minsener Oog and ends after 6.5 nautical miles (nm) east of Horumersiel .

General

The expansion of the Jade fairway for tankers made it necessary to build new leading lights in the early 1960s . In this context, the leading light line Voslapp was built from 1960 and put into operation in August 1961. It has replaced the Voslapp lighthouse .

The upper fire has a height of 64.6  m above sea level. NN and is one of the tallest lighthouses in Germany and the world. The initially gray reinforced concrete tower stood directly behind the Genius Beach . With the construction of the JadeWeserPort , he has now moved further inland. In September 1984 the top light was given today's red and white paint and until 1998 a cross- brand light was also in operation at a height of 20.2 m .

The 16.9  m above sea level NN high lower light consists of a steel tube and is 2.35 nm away from the upper light in the mudflats . The initially black and white tower with a red lantern was also painted red and white in 2003. Both towers form a leading light line of 164.5 ° and show a synchronous white common mode light . The ranges are given as 27 nm for the upper fire and 24 nm for the lower fire.
