Ricky Petrucciani (born June 30, 2000 in Locarno ) is a Swiss sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

Ricky Petrucciani gained his first international experience in 2016, when he retired from the first round of the European Youth Championships in Tbilisi with 49.75 seconds and retired from the Swiss sprint relay (1000 meters) with 2: 00.52 minutes in advance . The following year he reached the semi -finals in the individual competition of the U20 European Championships in Grosseto , in which he was eliminated with 47.41 s, while he was sixth in the 4 x 400 meter relay after 3: 11.67 min came in. Also at the U20 World Championships in Tampere in 2018 , he was eliminated over 400 meters with 47.39 s in the semi-finals, but did not reach the final with the relay in 3: 09.48 min. He then took part with the relay at the European Championships in Berlin , but was disqualified there in the preliminary round. In 2019 he took part in the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow over 400 meters , but was eliminated there with 47.83 s in the first round. In the summer he won the bronze medal at the U20 European Championships in Borås in 46.34 s.

In 2019, Petrucciani became Swiss champion in the 400-meter race outdoors and from 2018 to 2020 also indoors.
