The Riedenbach is an orographically right tributary of the Eltingmühlenbach in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany . It has a length of 6.0 km. In parts of its course it forms the state border between Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia, and it is also the border river between Ostbevern and Kattenvenne.

course

The Riedenbach rises in the Meckelweger Mark east of the village of Kattenvenne and flows off in a south-westerly direction. Between Kattenvenne and the Schwege district of Glandorf , the Riedenbach forms the border between the Steinfurt and Osnabrück districts ( 52 ° 4 ′ 59.8 ″  N , 7 ° 53 ′ 5.7 ″  E ) and thus on an approximately one and a half kilometer long section also the state border between North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony . For this reason, the water in this area is also known as the Grenzbach .

In the further course the brook leads south past the nature reserves Hedge Landscape Kattenvenne and Lilienvenn . There it takes its only tributary, a likewise 6.0 km long, nameless body of water that tapers on the right. After the Riedenbach has reached the district of Ostbevern , it finally flows into the Aa on the right .
