Upon reaching the national border, the river is now called Aa and flows in predominantly west-north-westerly directions through the area of Ostbevern . After 13 km of flowing, the river reaches the border with Greven . Here the river changes name for the last time and is now called Eltingmühlenbach.
Following the border for around one kilometer to the south, the Eltingmühlenbach turns again to the west with the mouth of the Wöstengosse . After crossing the Glanering , the river meanders to the west. At stationing kilometers 8.5, the river crosses under the Dortmund-Ems Canal in a culvert . Then the Eltingmühlenbach northbound flows on Schmedehausen but turns before reaching the local situation to the northwest and crosses under a little later the A1 . Surname
The name comes from the Eltingmühle house , an important mill and customs post until the 19th century on the border between the Duchy of Münster and the County of Tecklenburg . Nevertheless, one speaks here of the glane:
“The main axis of the farms belonging to the farming community is the river Glane, which in this area is now known as Eltingmühlenbach. That is why Schmedehausen is still affectionately referred to as the "Glanedorf", although it is neither on the Glane nor a village. "
